Social Support Groups (centre based)

Anglicare offers social support groups in Harris Park, Penrith, Kingswood, Richmond, Whalan and Winmalee.  The social groups offer recreational activities and outings for older people, designed to restore, maintain and support independent living through social interaction in a centre based environment. We also offer centre based recreational activities and outings for older people living with dementia. 

Social Support - Individual

This service offers flexible options to support people who live alone or are socially isolated to remain living independently in their home. Support may be provided for daily living tasks such as medication monitoring, meal preparation, appointments and shopping. People are supported to access the community and remain socially connected.

Social Support – Individual CALD Specific

Individual social support activities and outings for people from a CALD background living in the Penrith, Blue Mountains, and Hawkesbury LGA's

Flexible Respite

In-home or community respite service for carers of older people and/or people living with dementia including those with complex behaviours. The respite plan offered is flexible and designed to best meet the needs of carers and the supported older person.

Personal Care

Anglicare offers a flexible, adaptable personal care service that supports older people in the Blacktown LGA to remain living independently at home.

Cottage Respite

Anglicare offers overnight community respite in a cottage based short stay respite service for older people living in the Nepean and Cumberland Prospect areas. The cottage is located at Winmalee in the Blue Mountains.

Counselling Support Information Advocacy

Anglicare offers Counselling, support, information and advocacy services across the Nepean and Cumberland Prospect regions. This service targets older people, people with disabilities, their carers, and people with dementia, to support them with connections to services, education on topics of interest e.g. dementia care, information on relevant topics such as; aged care reform, legal aid, financial information, health care service etc. and one on one counselling/ or referral to professional counsellors. Advocacy services to represent/empower people to represent themselves. This service is offered in both group settings and on an individual basis.

Anglicare Home Care Packages Levels 1, 2, 3 and 4

Anglicare Home Care Packages assists older people to remain living independently in their own homes for as long as possible. Anglicare offers choice and flexibility in the way care and services are provided under the Consumer Directed Care model.

Anglicare support staff seek to be caring, kind patient and respectful in order to enhance and support all elements of life.

A range of services can be provided under an Anglicare Home Care Package. These services include:

  • Meal preparation
  • Transport
