Elise Hayward will celebrate her 43rd birthday on Friday 19 June, and in the process, celebrate 26 years of volunteering at a local not-for-profit nursing home in Craigie. The dedicated local started volunteering at MercyVille aged care home when she was just 17 years of age, so has been a regular volunteer for over half of her life.

The topping out ceremony was held recently at Calvary Health Care's latest aged care home development in Newport, Victoria. The event, which marks the completion of the development’s construction phase, is a time-honoured tradition within the building industry.
After more than 10 years volunteering at Baptistcare David Buttfield Centre Residential Care in Gwelup, Bev Denko still says it’s hearing the residents’ stories that she enjoys the most.

George was a resident at Regis Blackburn and sadly passed away on Sunday, after living with MND (Motor Neurone Disease) for many years. His brother Lindsay has lived at Regis Blackburn for seven years, and still resides there along with George’s wife, Betty. On Monday the lifestyle staff and residents wore MND beanies in memory of George and his battle through MND.
