94-Year-Old Nancy Finds Joy in Returning to 'Mirridong': The Home she Named Six Decades Ago

on Tuesday, July 4, 2023

Calvary Mirridong, located in Bendigo, once bore the name "Bendigo Blind Home" in its early days. In 1960, a local radio station organized a contest titled "Give it a Name" to rename this cherished establishment. Among the 490 entries received, the winning submission, "Mirridong," meaning a joyful abode, was put forth by Nancy Winzar.
