Aged Care Melbourne: Broadband for Seniors Internet Kiosk Opened

Aged Care Provider TLC Aged Care has been one of the first providers to implement the Australian Government’s Broadband for Seniors program, an initiative which seeks to provide senior Australians with access to computers.

The initiative seeks to address isolation and help senior Australians stay up to date with technology. TLC Aged Care opened an internet kiosk for its residents last week as part of the initiative.

Aged Care Events Melbourne: Hollywood Comes to Melbourne

This Friday seniors will flock to the Melbourne CBD for the fifth annual StarFISH extravaganza and the United Nation’s International Day of Older Persons.

300 of Melbourne’s elderly residents will converge to Melbourne Park and take part in this year’s theme Hooray for Hollywood with a focus on music, dance, culture and the old Hollywood musicals.

 

Understanding Aged Care: National Dementia Awareness Week

National Dementia Awareness Week (DAW) will run from 21-28 September with the aim of encouraging Australians to live a ‘brain healthy lifestyle.’

The week will coincide with World Alzheimer’s Day on 21 September and events will be held all over the country including events in Victoria, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland and the ACT.
