Thalpori
Thalpori is recognised by the Department of Health and Ageing as a provider of nursing care, to Australian elders of Greek speaking background. Care and accommodation is provided for 30 residents in single bedrooms. The allocation of rooms is determined by the Manager of Residential Care Services, who takes into account various factors and individual needs. There are communal areas located throughout the home including resident lounges, a dining room, activities room, a large landscaped garden with a chapel, courtyards, kitchen and laundry.
Thalpori (Memory Support Unit)
The Thalpori Memory Support Unit consists of 17 beds including one respite bed and a secure wing of 13 beds for memory support in an attractive building at St Albans.
The Memory Support Unit has a total of 30 single bedrooms, each with their own ensuite. The allocation of rooms is determined by the Manager of Residential Care, who takes into account various factors and individual needs.
There are communal areas located throughout the Memory Support Unit including three lounges, a dining room, a kitchen and a laundry. There is access to a spacious and secure courtyard, which can be used for outdoor activities.
Respite
Thalpori has one respite bed available that may be booked in advance for the purpose of the carer having a break, managing family concerns such as hospitalisation or unforeseen circumstances. The agreement or booking specifies the duration of the respite placement. It is important in all instances to discuss the family’s and elderly person’s needs, before a booking is made.
