Castra Retirement Home is a 32 bed facility. Residents are offered a private room with an en-suite shared with one other room and several rooms have private en-suites. Respite care is available for short stays. The facility also includes Independent Living Units which are adjacent to the facility.
At Southern Cross Care (Qld) we are committed to providing a unique quality of life for all residents. We have a full time Diversional Therapist, who arranges a varied program of activities to suit all interests.
Castra is surrounded by manicured, well maintained grounds and gardens, it is conveniently located and accessible to all facilities and services. Murgon is well serviced for medical needs, with two doctors visiting in house every two weeks. A podiatrist makes regular visits to the facility and hairdressers call every 6 weeks.
The personal needs of all residents are attended to by our caring and well trained personnel, focusing on valuing and respecting human life and providing care with dignity. Staff are onsite 24 hours a day and an alarm system with central monitoring is installed in every room and every independent living unit.

The library in the residents lounge is stocked with a wide selection of large and small print books for the enjoyment and comfort of residents. Escorted half and full-day bus trips are provided for residents and a bus service for shopping calls at the facility weekly.
Residents are encouraged to attend activities including: non denominational church services in the newly appointed Chapel, bingo, craft, indoor bowls and board games are held in the recreation rooms.
Southern Cross Care Castra enjoys support from the local community and many valued and committed volunteers. Castra is proud of the aged care service it offers.
SHARED ROOM - 2 BED. Superior room with shared ensuite. This generous sized shared room is furnished with coordinated bedding and curtains. In this double room a bay window extends the room to allow a sitting area to enjoy the outlook. Minimum room size 24m2.
