Vasey RSL Care is a not for profit organisation which has grown from a long history of care provision to the ex-service community. Their professional and caring staff have many years of experience in the aged care field, combined with a sound knowledge of the special needs of the veteran community.
Accommodation in Vasey RSL Care Residential Aged Care homes is offered to all with applications from the general public most welcome and as a priority to war widows, veterans and their dependants.
All residential aged care homes are fully accredited and provide a range of care options to reflect each resident’s needs. Vasey RSL Care staff do their utmost to provide quality services in a homelike atmosphere, among people who may have shared similar experiences. There is a strong emphasis on fostering an environment of camaraderie and support.

In a significant development for the veteran community, Vasey RSL Care has recently been awarded a contract to provide services under the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) program. This expansion of services reflects Vasey RSL Care's commitment to serving those who have served our nation and comes as an addition to their existing provision of the Federal Government’s Home Care Package Program.
Residents at all of Vasey RSL Care's aged care homes have had both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine as well as flu vaccinations, ensuring that those more vulnerable remain safe and well.
Back in August, Vasey RSL Care activated their Outbreak Emergency Plans, and staff were required to take on a range of additional tasks. During this time, Vasey RSL Care partnered with Ironside Recruitment, a specialist organisation that places veterans. Three veterans and one veteran’s partner were bought on board to provide extra support for residents at Ivanhoe and Frankston South.
It's probably safe to say that government restrictions are leaving many of us feeling like caged animals. All we can do is make the best of the situation, keep in touch with those we care about and find ways to look after our physical and mental health. Residents at Vasey RSL Care have been busy with a great range of activities to stay happy and healthy.
Run in conjunction with NOVA Radio, HESTA’s Thank You Project asks listeners to send messages of thanks to people who work in health and community services. Carol Bailie, whose parents, Laurie and Margaret, are residents at Bundoora, nominated Linda for an award.
A joyride through the clouds in an open cockpit World War II biplane was an exhilarating way to start the day for Ken Tunley. A resident at Vasey RSL Care Bundoora, Ken was presented with a boarding pass for the specially commissioned flight to celebrate his 100th birthday.
