Part of mecwacare
mecwacare's Fisher Street Centre in Malvern East is home to our Disability Services programs. Participants undertake individualised programs and access is available to participants from the southern and eastern metropolitan regions of Melbourne.
NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)
mecwacare is a registered provider of disability services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), both one-to-one and group-based programs either in a Centre or out in the community.
Clients can purchase in-home respite, supports and services to assist them to live as independently as possible, strengthen relationships with others and to participate in their community.
mecwacare has many years of experience in providing care to people with a disability to clients of all ages.
Lifestyle Program
mecwacare Disability Services Lifestyle Program offers choice, diversity and active participation for people with primarily an intellectual disability and who may also have either a physical or mental health disability.
We offer tailored plans for Disability Services clients that focus on a combination of:
mecwacare also offers popular programs including an online bookstore, lunchtime catering and gardening services. There is a daily charge for programs, and transport may be available for a small fee.
Future options for school leavers
mecwacare Disability Services offer a transitional program for school leavers that is educational and community-based. We aim to offer choice, diversity and active participation for people with a disability who want to be independent in accessing their community, and who want to focus on moving into employment further eduation, or a day program. We offer educational programs and community inclusion for our clients by recognising their individual interests, goals and abilities. Our staff, along with our clients’ support networks, are committed to helping our participants achieve their goals.
