HammondCare Wahroonga has been designed using internationally recognised best practice principles, to promote choice, minimise confusion and maximise independence.

HammondCare Wahroonga is a brand new, dementia specific, four-level care home. It comprises of private apartments, which are designed around a unique model of personal, individual care, and staffed by specialist dementia carers and advisers.

The various common areas of the apartments include the following spaces:

  • Sunrooms containing lounge chairs and small tables, providing a common space that also allows a degree of privacy
  • A domestic laundry
  • Terrace balconies with extensive community views
  • A backyard containing barbecues, small pergolas, benches and tables, raised garden beds and washing lines - all back yards are secure, and looping garden paths link the outdoors with the indoors, minimising confusion for residents
  • A TV room with a variety of lounge chairs, a coffee table, a TV with a DVD player, along with a stereo system

Reviewing an aged care provider is a great way to share your thoughts. But please follow the policies listed below when writing a review.

  • Spam Content: Please no spam. Reviews should be a genuine reflection of your experience with an aged care provider. Do not include promotional content or advertising in any form. Duplicate material will not be accepted.
  • Telephone Numbers and Web Links: To prevent adverts and spam, we do not permit phone numbers or web links.
  • Hate Speech: We do not allow reviews that advocate against people based on their ethnic origin, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation or age.
  • Aged Care Reviews is not a complaints system. Reviews must be fair and reasonable. Any defamatory statements reflecting a personal experience that has not yet been taken up with the respective provider will not be accepted. If you have a personal complaint to make about an aged care facility we encourage you to contact your provider directly using the details provided on their listing. Alternatively you can submit a complaint via the Government’s Aged Care Complaints Scheme.

This facility has provided exceptional care to my mother with diabetes and vascular dementia. We are so grateful to the Hammond Care staff who manage the residents and their families with gentleness and respect at all times. Highly recommended!

This is an excellent facility. It is very modern in the building and advanced in approach to caring for people with dementia. It is divided into small apartments with about 10-12 residents, each with their own room. Meals are prepared in the apartment by the carers. It has a homely feel to it. Carers and nursing staff are well trained, skilled and caring.
