Colton Close has been an established part of the Glenroy community for over 30 years. The aged care facility is home to 150 people and offers ageing-in-place to make life easier for residents with changing care needs.
Colton Close is renowned for its high standard of care, including a specialised dementia-care unit, with nurses on-site 24 hours a day. Respite care is also available.
Shared and single bedrooms mostly come with ensuites. Residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture to increase homeliness. Foxtel and phone connections are ready in all rooms, and laundry service and climate control is available.
Colton Close runs an extensive lifestyle program with a range of activities, including:
A popular addition to the home is the internet café, where residents flock to keep in contact with friends and family over the world. Volunteers provide support to use the facilities.
Delicious, healthy meals are the pride of Colton Close. Cooks consult closely with nutritionists to ensure the nutritional benefit of every dish. The kitchen caters to a range of cultural and religious beliefs and represents individual taste as much as possible. Regular food forums give residents an opportunity to contribute their ideas to the menu.
Staff and volunteers bring a level of pastoral sensibility to all roles. Non-denominational volunteers provide ongoing spiritual and emotional support through a range of church and chaplaincy services.
