Residents are welcome to bring their own favourite items of furniture when they move in. All rooms come with an ensuite bathroom, and an internet connection is available. Staff provide full laundry service.

Delicious, healthy meals are prepared onsite for residents and their visitors. Dieticians work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure all dietary requirements are being met. Using fresh produce, St George’s cooks can cater to a range of cultural and religious dietary needs. The regular food forums ensure residents have their say on what goes on the menu.

Benetas Homes Participate in World-First Study Testing Impact of Ultraviolet Light on COVID-19

Six Benetas aged care homes will take part in a world-first study, run by the Victorian Department of Health, to see if invisible ultraviolet light can decrease the impact of COVID-19 and flu in aged care settings.  

The 12-month Elucidar study, developed in direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic, will start in early July with more than 60 aged care homes participating across Melbourne and Geelong.

Benetas and Andromeda Robotics Trial AI Robot at Altona Aged Care Home

Benetas has partnered with Andromeda Robotics to trial the use of an AI-powered robot to engage residents at St George’s aged care home in Altona. As part of the aged care provider’s extensive lifestyle program, the humanoid companion robot, known as Abi, will interact with residents over the next three months.

The year Mildred Andrew was born, horse and cart was the common mode of transport, Andrew Fisher was Prime Minister and Carlton beat Fitzroy in the VFL Grand Final with almost 40,000 people in attendance at the MCG. On Friday, 26 January, the Benetas St George’s resident and oldest Victorian-born person in the state, turned 109 surrounded by friends and family.
