TLC Healthcare has appointed Helen Toohey as their new General Manager of Early Learning, and she will be joining the TLC Early Learning team on 26 April 2022.

TLC Healthcare (TLC) will be amongst the first providers to vaccinate children on their return to school in 2022. Firbank Grammar School and Brighton Grammar School in Melbourne’s southern suburbs will be running in-school vaccination clinics from January 14, prior to their students returning to school. The Government-funded roll-out of the vaccine at in-school clinics will substantially boost vaccination coverage in Australia.
Building on the success of their in-reach vaccination program and the roll-out of rapid antigen testing in residential aged care homes and schools, TLC Aged Care has been contracted by the Commonwealth Government to administer on-site COVID-19 vaccinations.
On Thursday, 28 October 2021, TLC Aged Care will be Australia's first aged care provider to offer Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine booster doses to its 1,600 aged care residents and 2,000 staff and contractors across their 11 locations. On September 9, TLC Aged Care introduced a rapid antigen testing program at their 11 residential aged care homes across Melbourne and Geelong. The rapid antigen test that TLC utilises is 95% effective and has been approved by the TGA in Australia and the FDA in the United States.

Virtual reality technology has been a part of TLC Healthcare’s wellbeing programs, and as a form of entertainment for residents, for several years. TLC is extending this with the integration of virtual reality interactive walls for their physical wellbeing programs. Australia’s first interactive virtual reality wall, specifically designed for residential aged care, has been installed at TLC’s flagship aged care home in the Melbourne suburb of Clifton Hill.
