Care professionals including dentists, podiatrists, physiotherapists and speech pathologists visit the site regularly or upon request.

This assessment will determine if you are eligible for residential aged care. Once you have been approved for this level of support, Resthaven will also conduct an evaluation to ensure our facilities are appropriate to your needs. For Brittany Carver, International Nurses Day holds special significance, and not just because she is a Personal Care Assistant herself.
The Resthaven Paradise worker is also a relative of Lieutenant Colonel Vivian Bullwinkel, the Australian nurse who was the sole survivor of the Bangka Island massacre, which took place on 16 February 1942, shortly after the outbreak of war in the Pacific. Vivian was Brittany’s great-grandfather’s cousin.
When Mrs Florence ‘Flo’ Symes moved into Resthaven Paradise four years ago, she didn’t want to ‘waste time sitting around.’
So it was that she turned her hand to the popular ‘paint by numbers’ art activity, creating almost 50 paintings so far – with no sign of slowing down in sight.
The Resthaven Paradise Spring Flower Show is back for another year, with the site community creating beautiful floral arrangements with their springtime favourites from the site gardens.
Resthaven Paradise has teamed up with the Campbelltown Council and Salvation Army for a weekly ‘Intergenerational Playgroup’ for residents and children, held at the home at 61 Silkes Road, Paradise – and it’s a hit with all involved.
Mr Leslie ‘Les’ Motley is literally "smelling the roses" after creating a beautiful rose garden right outside his bedroom window at Resthaven Paradise. Les says, "When I first moved to [Resthaven] Paradise, I used to look out of my window and see the small groundcovers and grass, and I thought, 'I’d like to make a little garden out there.'"

It is no secret that music is good for the soul. Musical volunteers make waves as they share a familiar sensory comfort to the older people that Resthaven supports. Coordinating Chaplain at Resthaven Paradise and Resthaven Leabrook, Rev Cate Baker, firsthand witnesses the benefits to residents that music brings.
Resthaven Paradise’s very own canine volunteer, Shadow, brings a ‘bark’ of joy to residents each week, accompanied by his owner, and Resthaven volunteer, Russell Dahms.
On 24 February 2020, Mrs Shirley Brown of Resthaven Paradise travelled to Resthaven Murray Bridge at 53 Swanport Road, to celebrate her 98th birthday with her twin sister, Mrs Marion Lewis.
In honour of NAIDOC Week 2019 (7-14 July), several Resthaven sites held celebrations and hosted special guests.
Tuesday, 5 February, is the start of the new lunar cycle. Many Asian cultures celebrate the lunar new year, also known as the Chinese New Year and the Spring Festival. Residents across Resthaven celebrated with a range of themed activities and celebrations to last throughout the new year celebrations. Every year of the Chinese calendar is represented by one of twelve zodiac animal signs, and in 2019, it is the Year of the Pig.
In honour of NAIDOC Week 2018 (8-15 July), Indigenous artist, Kristen Forbes, visited Resthaven Paradise residents to share her culture and history through the expression of art.
A local koala was so impressed with the recent refurbishment at Resthaven Paradise, at 61 Silkes Road, Paradise, that he tried to move in! Manager, Belle Kerr, says, "One of our many site koalas had kept an eye on proceedings throughout the works, from the safety of one of many gum trees dotted around the site."
